Stephen Flynn (Director) seems like just a normal mechanic when you meet him – friendly, relaxed and efficient. Delve a little deeper and you soon you realise his achievement. In six years, he’s gone from being a one-man band to employing eight people – and built Green Lane into one of Garstang’s most respected garages. Not content with that, he’s now built a body shop so he can offer everything a car, van or mobile home owner could ever need.
“We are now a one-stop shop,” says Stephen. “No matter what your car needs, whether it’s something simple like a tyre, puncture, battery or exhaust, or something more complicated like servicing, an engine re-build, body work or an MOT, we can provide it. “There’s no need to go anywhere else. It’s all in one place – here.” Stephen, 35, aims to offer a friendly straightforward service. “We’re local, we have very high standards, we’re polite and we explain to customers what we’re doing and put them at ease.”
Every year, Stephen has invested in the business, buying new machinery such as better ramps or computer equipment to fine-tune diesel engines, giving greater economy and power. He now employs six fully qualified mechanics including himself and two apprentices. His smart workshop reveals his commitment to high standards. Even the garage floor is spotless and a comfortable waiting room offers free drinks and biscuits.
Since opening in August 2012, Stephen serves domestic and commercial clients. People in the trades particularly find he is aware of their needs and he offers a courtesy van to help tradesmen clients. He and his mechanics tackle any make of vehicle, from budget runarounds to high-end luxury motors. Stephen adds: “We have all the latest diagnostic tools and equipment to cater for all vehicles. Only the best will do!” With few class 7 MOT centres for bigger vehicles in Garstang, many local fleet operators use Green Lane, who do free vehicle collection and delivery.

The Director (Stephen Flynn): who has 20 years experience and is ATA Accredited and City and Guilds quilified. Stephen is also qualified to MOT test Class 4 & 7 vehicles.
Diagnostic Specialist (Chris Longhorn): Chris specialises in engine faults and elecrical problems which require a more in depth approach, he utilises lots of new technologies and his expertise is second to none.
Fully Qualified Mechanic (George Whitiker): George has been with us for over 4 years and is a valued member of the team. George is very passionate about cars and motorbikes.
Accident Damage Repairs and Painting (Damien Bradley): Damien is a new addition to Green Lane Garage and brings a 25 years experience of paint spraying and body repairs to the business.
